If your restaurant is live on Swiggy but orders are barely trickling in, the problem is rarely the food. It's almost always the listing itself — the part of your restaurant a customer sees before they ever taste anything. Here are the seven fixes we run on every account we take on, in the order we run them.

1. Fix your delivery radius first

A radius set too wide or too narrow either shows you to people who won't order (too far, slow delivery) or hides you from your best nearby customers. Match it to where your actual repeat customers live, not a flat 5–7km default.

2. Replace phone-camera photos with proper shoots

Swiggy's app is a scroll of photos before it's a scroll of names. Dark, cluttered, or blurry images get scrolled past in under a second. A clean, well-lit photo of your best-selling dish does more for orders than any discount.

3. Rewrite your menu with search terms in mind

Customers search the way they'd say it out loud — "chicken biryani near me," "veg thali," "cheese pizza." If your menu only says "Biryani Special," you're invisible to that search. Match the words customers actually type.

4. Get your first 20 reviews moving

Swiggy's ranking rewards restaurants with a healthy volume of recent, genuine reviews — not just a high rating with three reviews from 2023. Ask happy customers directly, right after a good order, when they're most likely to say yes.

5. Keep your online status accurate

Restaurants that go "offline" unpredictably during busy hours get quietly deprioritised over time. Consistent uptime during your stated hours matters more than owners usually realise.

6. Use offers strategically, not constantly

A well-timed 20% off on a slow weekday afternoon can lift visibility. A permanent, ignored discount banner does nothing and can even signal that your baseline price is inflated.

7. Track it monthly, not once

Listings drift — new competitors join, algorithms update, your best dish photo goes stale. The restaurants that keep growing are the ones who revisit this list every month, not the ones who did it once and forgot about it.
